ProTee United has released a new overhead mounted launch monitor - the ProTee VX - into the golf simulator market. Which type of indoor golfer is the ProTee VX best for?
ProTee United is well known for its golf simulator software The Golf Club 2019, which features hundreds of thousands of golf courses, golf course creation options, online tournaments and much more. But now, it has "entered the chat" in the overhead launch monitor conversation.
We’ll take you through how the ProTee VX stacks up in price, data parameters and setup against other overhead mounted launch monitors such as the Foresight Sports GCHawk, Uneekor EYE XO (and EYE XO2), Uneekor EYE XR and TruGolf APOGEE.
The ProTee VX is an affordable overhead mounted launch monitor option. It is mounted centrally in front of the golfer for use by both righties and lefties.
According to ProTee, the VX should be mounted between 40 and 43 inches in front of the hitting area and 9-10 feet above the hitting area. ProTee recommends hitting from at least 10 feet away from your impact screen and having 8 feet on your left, right and back side for a safe, unobstructed swing.
The VX launch monitor measures the following ball and flight data:
The VX also measures the following club data parameters:
The VX also offers other great features, such as the use of unmarked balls, easy calibration, club detection, a quick and easy setup, instant reaction, measured (not calculated) data and shot type detection. Oh yeah, and some high quality club-at-impact and ball spin video replays.

The ProTee launch monitors will come with a software user interface that, by default, shows your ball, club and flight data, as well as other features such as video of your club at impact.
All three systems will have the same ProTee user interface, as well as the same trajectory physics. Per ProTee, the hope is that all three devices will be compatible with all golf simulation software, including its own TGC 2019.
