Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, one of the top courses in the US, will host its second PGA Championship this year. This private course has been testing the world’s best players since it opened in 1961, and over the years, it has built a reputation as one of the toughest and most beautiful stops on the PGA Tour.

Originally designed by George Cobb, Quail Hollow has been tweaked and refined over the decades, with Arnold Palmer giving it a facelift in 1986 and Tom Fazio making major updates in the late ‘90s and early 2000s. The result? A championship-caliber course with a brutal closing stretch known as “The Green Mile”—holes 16 through 18. 

The course became a fixture on the PGA Tour when it started hosting the Wells Fargo Championship in 2003, bringing in golf’s biggest names year after year. Then, in 2017, Quail Hollow got its first major moment when Justin Thomas took home his first PGA Championship title there. And in 2022, it stepped onto the international stage as the host of the Presidents Cup, where Team USA dominated the Internationals.

With typically the deepest and strongest field of players in the men's game, the PGA Championship is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated events of the golf season, and it's not hard to see why. The tournament brings together the best players on the planet, as ranked by the Official World Golf Rankings. It is golf's only all-professional major tournament.

Quail Hollow Club is a par 71 championship course that stretches to 7,621 yards from the tournament tees. The course is known for its challenging layout, with a mix of long par 4s, risk-reward par 5s, and tough par 3s.

• Par 3s: 4 total (Holes 4, 6, 13, 17)
• Par 4s: 11 total (Holes 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18)
• Par 5s: 3 total (Holes 5, 10, 15)

Notable Features

• The Green Mile (Holes 16-18): One of the toughest finishing stretches in golf, featuring a long par 4, a dangerous par 3 over water, and a brutal 494-yard par 4 closing hole.
