ProTee United's 3 New Launch Monitors: RLX, VX, and RX

ProTee United is set to release three new overhead mounted launch monitors - the ProTee RLX, VX and RX - into the golf simulator market. Which one of the dual high-speed camera systems might be best for your golf simulator setup?

ProTee United Launch MonitorsProTee United might best be known for its golf simulator software The Golf Club 2019, which features hundreds of thousands of golf courses, golf course creation options, online tournaments and much more.

We’ll take you through how they stack up in price, data parameters and setup against other overhead mounted launch monitors such as the Foresight Sports GCHawk, Uneekor EYE XO (and EYE XO2), Uneekor QED and TruGolf APOGEE.

PROTEE UNITED RLX LAUNCH MONITOR

Based on price, the best of the three launch monitors is the RLX. The introductory price will be $7,500 (€7000).

The RLX unit is centrally mounted overhead and in front of the golfer for use by both right- and left-handed golfers.

  • Launch direction
  • Launch angle
  • Flight path
  • Apex height
  • Apex time
  • Total distance

PROTEE UNITED VX LAUNCH MONITOR

The mid-priced unit is the VX. According to ProTee’s website, the VX’s introductory price will be $6,500 (€6000).

As with the RLX, the ProTee United VX unit is mounted centrally in front of the golfer for use by both righties and lefties.

PROTEE VX LAUNCH MONITOR SPACE REQUIREMENTS

According to ProTee, the VX should be mounted between 40 and 43 inches in front of the hitting area and 9-10 feet above the hitting area. ProTee recommends hitting from at least 10 feet away from your impact screen and having 8 feet on your left, right and back side for a safe, unobstructed swing.

PROTEE VX LAUNCH MONITOR DATA

The VX launch monitor measures the following ball and flight data:

  • Ball speed
  • Back spin
  • Side spin
  • Total spin
  • Spin axis
  • Launch direction
  • Launch angle
  • Flight path
  • Apex height
  • Apex time
  • Total distance
  • Carry distance
  • Off line
  • Air time
  • Run
  • Descent angle

The VX also measures the following club data parameters:

  • Club speed
  • Club path
  • Club face angle
  • Club face to path
  • Attack angle
  • Dynamic loft
  • Club lie angle
  • Impact point (vertical and horizontal)

PROTEE VX LAUNCH MONITOR FEATURES

The VX also offers other great features, such as the use of markerless balls, easy calibration, club detection, a quick and easy setup, instant reaction, measured (not calculated) data and shot type detection.

PROTEE UNITED RX LAUNCH MONITOR

One key difference of ProTee’s RX launch monitor is that it is mounted on the right or left side of the player as it is only meant for just right handed golfers, or just left handed golfers.

According to ProTee’s website, the introductory price for the RX will be $5,500 (€5000).

  • Launch direction
  • Launch angle
  • Flight path
  • Apex height
  • Apex time
  • Total distance
  • Carry distance
  • Off line
  • Air time
  • Run

The ProTee launch monitors will come with a software user interface that, by default, shows your ball, club and flight data, as well as other features such as video of your club at impact.
All three systems will have the same ProTee user interface, as well as the same trajectory physics. Per ProTee, the hope is that all three devices will be compatible with all golf simulation software, including its own TGC 2019.
